Muddy Terrain Well, I've not been committed to writing as frequently as I would prefer. It's just that I always want to "out do" myself. I set the sights high and typically wait for inspiration that breathes through legendary writing. Maybe it's time to bounce away from that standard and write more frequently. Maybe this will bring a new sense of inspiration. Lately, one thing that has been hitting my mind is marketing. I'm back reading another book by Seth Godin and he never disappoints. One thing that I despise is "marketing Jesus" yet it seems that lately all of my "marketing" thinking pertains to spreading the Gospel in this post-Christian culture. None of my ideas are for advertising Jesus and never will be...yet, it's difficult for me to explain this fully. More to come on this, soon. In the meantime (do you remember that song by Spacehog? - yeah, I owned the album at one point)... Check out Rocketboom.com (I encountered this new wave of journalism while briefly watching a special on TV the other night). An interesting new form of reporting and I'm intrigued by it. Two quotes to consider: "Give sacrificially until is simplifies your lifestyle." "The medium doesn't matter, the message does." Comments willkommen.

It's 2007 Over recent months, I really have started reading more and taking time to finish up some books that I wanted to read while turning off the tube. In fact, one of my goals in 2007 is to read a minimum of one book per month. A daunting task but it can be accomplished, if I could just finish the four books I currently have going! Here they are: Sidewalks in the Kingdom Foolishness to the Greeks The Divine Conspiracy Real Money Maybe if I commit to reading one chapter in each book, every day, then I can catch up. See you on the flip side. Oh, and if you had not yet heard... Apple released the iPhone. It's spectacular. |
